Welcome to Grapevine
We are very excited to host the 56th National/45th International Convention in Grapevine, Texas. Located about half an hour northwest of Dallas and half an hour northeast of Fort Worth, the city got its name from the wild mustang grapes that grew there. Grapevine is also known as “The Christmas Capital of Texas.”
Established as a settlement in 1844, Grapevine takes pride in its local history, boasting the restoration of 18th- and 19th-century buildings. Visitors can enjoy many of those restored buildings on Main Street or take a trip back in time to what farming in the 1800s was like at Nash Farm, the oldest operating farmstead in Tarrant County. The farm even still has the original 1869 farmhouse!
The Lone Star State is home to 2,426 ZTA collegiate members in 18 active chapters. Four collegiate chapters in Texas are Mighty Chapters, the designation for chapters with 60 or fewer members, and five are Mega Chapters with 200 or more members. The oldest collegiate chapter in Texas, Lambda Chapter at Southwestern University, was founded in 1906, over 110 years before the newest chapter in the state, Lambda Sigma Chapter, was installed at The University of Texas at Tyler in 2018.
Texas is home to 26,697 alumnae who can join one or more of the 31 active alumnae chapters, 512 Certificate of Merit recipients, 5,061 alumnae with a 50-year White Violet pin, and 518 women with a 75-year White Violet charm.
No matter what draws you to Grapevine, we can’t wait to see you in the Lone Star state this summer! Convention 2022 has a lot in store for collegians and alumnae alike, so register as soon as possible to confirm your attendance!
