ZTA Foundation Lunch

The ZTA Foundation’s traditional luncheon was a microcosm of all that the Foundation does for those within and without our circle.

Scholarships

The Foundation honored the 77 members attending Convention who will receive a Foundation Scholarship for the upcoming academic year. That included two recipients of Founders Grants for graduate study: Lizzie Shaw (Delta Kappa Chapter, Louisiana State University) and Maya Clausen (Lambda Chapter, Southwestern University). A total of 448 Zetas will receive $1.25 million in scholarships this fall, bringing the total for the biennium to $2.25 million.

Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Representatives from BCRF attended the luncheon and shared their gratitude for the $500,000 the Foundation awarded their organization in 2022 for research using AI to help in early detection. Foundation VP of Philanthropy Marlene Dunbar Conrad announced a new donation of $1.25 million to BCRF to continue that study, help fund another project that uses mammogram data to predict cancer development and provide additional funds for special prevention projects over the next two years. Zetas were thrilled to hear of our impact, and as Foundation President Carolyn Hof Carpenter said, "We aren't just pretty in pink, we are pretty powerful in pink."

Celebrating Members

The Foundation also recognized the newest members of its Lifetime Giving Societies and honored retiring board members Cynthia Byars Courtney and Nora Nell Hardy Jackson.
